The short version

Dearroom is a private room for two people. We collect what the app needs to keep your room working, we don’t sell it, we don’t show ads, and we don’t track your location.

What we store

Your account: your email address, and your password (stored only as a secure hash) if you choose one. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.

Your profile: the name, city, timezone and status you enter. Your partner sees these.

Your room: notes, photos, voice notes, songs, drawings, daily answers, game choices, gifts, phrase cards and your next-visit date. Only you and your partner can see them. Sealed answers and unopened gifts stay hidden from your partner until both of you have answered or the gift is opened.

Notifications: if you turn on heart notifications, a push token for your phone so we can deliver them.

What we don’t collect

No location tracking, contacts, advertising identifiers or analytics. Your status is only what you set. This website uses no tracking cookies; it remembers your language choice and nothing else.

Services we rely on

Supabase stores your account and room and delivers live updates. Google handles “Continue with Google” sign-in. Expo delivers push notifications. Our email provider sends sign-in codes. If you turn on weather, your city name is sent to Open-Meteo to look up the local temperature. Vercel hosts this website. Each of them processes data only to provide that service.

Security

Everything travels over encrypted connections. Each room is protected by access rules in the database so only its two members can read it, and photos and voice notes are served through short-lived private links. Rooms are not end-to-end encrypted.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data while you use Dearroom. Leaving a room removes you from it; the room stays for your partner. To delete your account and everything you’ve added, email hello@dearroom.app from your account’s address and we’ll do it within 30 days.

Children

Dearroom is not meant for children under 13.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date above. Questions: hello@dearroom.app.
